On successfully completing the course, attendees will be able to;
· Understand the legislation regarding confined spaces,
· Recognise types of confined spaces and associated hazards,
· Implement control measures to eliminate or reduce risks,
· Prepare confined spaces for safe entry,
· Understand the importance of Permit to Work and Safe Systems of Work for Confined Space Entry activities,
· Organise and implement appropriate accident and emergency procedures,
· Understand the requirements of the company’s Confined Space Entry Procedure,
· Select appropriate equipment for different types of entry
· Use gas monitoring equipment and escape breathing apparatus
Training Methodology
A mixture of taught sessions and exercises will be used to achieve the desired aims of the training, together with practical confined space entry exercise that includes using of gas detectors, safety harness, lifelines and escape breathing apparatus.
Who Should Attend
· The course is aimed at all levels of employees who may undertake work in or enter in to confined spaces.
Pre-requisites
Training is in English but translation into other languages may be available on request. Organisations are requested to provide information on their Confined Space Entry procedure to ensure that the training is aligned to their expectations and procedure(s).
Certification
On successful completion of the training, attendees will be issued with a unique-numbered Santis training certificate. Appraisal of attendees’ knowledge and performance will be made through a combination of continuous exercises, assessments, a written examination (multiple choice and short answers) and practical exercise.
