On successfully completing the course, attendees will be able to;
· Name the various types of cranes and the major component parts,
· Describe the Certification requirements for operators,
· Understand the importance of verifying & recording operator competence,
· Identify the common environment hazards that effect the limits of operation,
· Understand the basic maintenance requirements,
· Understand the requirements for crane set up and operation,
· Name the hazards associated with the transportation of loads,
· Understand the main causes of crane accidents,
· Describe the regulatory requirements for the suspension of persons by crane,
· Use and understand the hand signals used during lifting operations,
· Do visual inspections for rigging equipment prior to use
Training Methodology
A mixture of taught sessions and exercises will be used to achieve the desired aims of the training.
Inspection on equipment on site or in the class will be conducted.
Who Should Attend
· The course is aimed at all levels of employees who may undertake or be involved in lifting operations
Pre-requisites
Training is in English but translation into other languages may be available on request. Organisations are requested to provide information on their Lifting Operations procedure to ensure that the training is aligned to their expectations and procedure(s).
Certification
On successful completion of the training, attendees will be issued with a unique-numbered Santis training certificate. Appraisal of attendees’ knowledge and performance will be made through a combination of continuous exercises, assessments and a written examination (multiple choice and short answers).
